The Municipality of Grey Highlands is seeking expressions of interest to design gateway signage for the four (4) entrances to Markdale at Highway 10 and Grey Road 12.

These gates will serve as symbolic entrances and must reflect the town’s character, heritage, and welcoming spirit. Attractive gateway signage can increase tourism and general curb appeal of the community. These gates will create a first impression and define a sense of arrival, making a visitor want to stop, shop, and explore.

The Municipality of Grey Highlands invited designers to submit conceptual gateway signage ideas for the four (4) entrances to Markdale, located along Highway 10 and Grey Road 12. These gateway features are intended to serve as symbolic entry points that reflect the community’s character, heritage, and welcoming spirit, while creating a strong sense of arrival for residents and visitors.

Public voting is now open and will remain open from May 19 - June 12, 2026

Members of the public are encouraged to review each design and provide input to help guide the next phase of the project.

Please note that the designs displayed are conceptual. Their purpose at this stage is to generate discussion and gather preliminary public feedback. The designs do not represent final or approved artwork. Any design that advances beyond this phase would be subject to further review, refinement, and potential modification through the municipal process, informed by Council direction, public input, applicable policies, and community standards.
