Grey Highlands Council has considered the proposed Markdale Urban Gateway project and has decided not to proceed with the initiative at this time.

We would like to thank all residents, stakeholders, and community members who shared their feedback and participated in the discussion process. Information regarding the project will remain available on this page for reference.

Should Council choose to revisit the concept in the future, updates will be shared with the public through the Municipality's regular communication channels.

The Municipality of Grey Highlands invited designers to submit conceptual gateway signage ideas for the four (4) entrances to Markdale, located along Highway 10 and Grey Road 12. These gateway features are intended to serve as symbolic entry points that reflect the community’s character, heritage, and welcoming spirit, while creating a strong sense of arrival for residents and visitors.

Public voting took place between May 19 - June 12, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
