Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why does my 4L paint that is only half filled with paint count as a full 4L?
    • The volume marked on the container the material is brought in, is the amount that is calculated towards the 50L maximum. Our attendants are not able to assume or guess how much material is remaining since all material is to be securely closed. The entire 4L container is placed in the packing barrels and shipped out.

  2. Can I pour material into a secondary container or smaller container and bring it in?
    • You are able to bring material into the HazBin that is not in its original container. However, it must be sealed tightly and labelled with what the material is. Example writing in marker on the container the name of the material.

  3. How should I bring in my florescent tubes?
    • Please tape your tubes together to ensure they are easier for our attendants to handle.

  4. Why can't I bring in materials from my farm, industrial, commercial or institutional property?
    • We are only permitted to accept household material under our Environmental Compliance Approval issued by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
